Role Overview

As a Security Officer at Monash Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Physical Safety and Security: Ensuring the physical safety of our patients, visitors, and staff by responding promptly to emergencies and safeguarding hospital property.
  • Emergency Response: Collaborating with fellow staff to manage emergencies effectively, including responding to Code Grey and Code Black situations.
  • Traffic Management: Managing traffic, including parking, to ensure seamless access to our facilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Security Officer in a hospital or health setting.
  • Code Response: Participation in code responses, including Code Black and Code Grey.
  • Emergency Response Knowledge: Knowledge of current emergency response procedures, including fire panels, OWS, and EWIS panels.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proven conflict resolution skills and a commitment to superior customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Intermediate verbal and written communication skills for incident and report preparation.

Qualifications and Certifications

You will need to hold:

  • Certificate III in Security Operations: Certificate III in Security Operations (Unarmed Guard & Crowd Control) or Certificate II in Security Operations (Unarmed Guard and Crowd Control).
  • Working with Children's Check: Current Working with Children's Check (or application in progress).
  • Driver's Licence: Current open or provisional Victorian Drivers Licence.
