Project Risk Management Expert

The role of Project Risk Manager is to effectively identify and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle. This involves providing specialized advice on matters of risk and verification to assist stakeholders with the appropriate identification, documentation, logging, monitoring/tracking, and reporting of delivery and delivered risks.

As a key member of the project team, you will work closely with senior project staff and stakeholders to support the consistent and effective application of the Bank's risk management framework. This includes fostering a risk-conscious atmosphere among project teams and motivating individuals to embrace a constructive and forward-thinking approach to risk management.

You will facilitate workshops to identify risks and contribute to a culture of risk awareness and proactive management. Additionally, you will manage risk registers, oversee mitigation actions, and periodic reviews with the project managers.

This role requires advanced knowledge of business risk and experience developing and implementing risk management plans and procedures on large-scale projects. The successful applicant will have expertise in project risk management, preferably within building construction or IT and operational projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the identification and effective management of risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with project teams to ensure comprehensive and accurate risk communication by producing forward-looking, timely risk reporting and standardizing risk documentation processes.
  • Foster a risk-conscious atmosphere among project teams and motivate individuals to adopt a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Facilitate workshops to identify risks and contribute to a culture of risk awareness and proactive management.
  • Manage risk registers, oversee mitigation actions, and periodic reviews with project managers.

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of business risk and experience developing and implementing risk management plans and procedures.
  • Expertise in project risk management, preferably within building construction or IT and operational projects.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders to enhance risk capability within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce visual and insightful risk reports for effective decision-making and management oversight.
  • Experience operating within a three lines of accountability model to support effective challenge and transparency.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, construction, and/or technology risk.
