Job Summary:
The Senior Practitioner - Family Intervention Specialist will provide critical support and guidance to the team in relation to casework, safety and risk assessments, and referrals. This role requires a high level of expertise and experience in the social services sector, with a strong focus on family dynamics and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Case Support and Advice: Provide expert advice and support to team members on complex cases, ensuring that all referrals are thoroughly assessed and allocated accordingly.
- Practice Advice: Offer guidance and support to team members on best practice approaches for working with families, including risk assessments and safety planning.
- Regional Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for referrals into and out of the program, working closely with the program manager to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Mentoring and Support: Provide regular mentoring and support to team members, helping to develop their skills and expertise in family intervention and community engagement.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with the program manager to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the effective delivery of family intervention services.
Requirements:
- Relevant Qualifications: A relevant social services degree or diploma with at least three years' experience in the social/community services sector.
- Expertise in Family Dynamics: Strong knowledge and experience in using various theoretical frameworks and therapeutic approaches for children, young people, and families.
- Cultural Competence: Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with diverse service providers and culturally diverse clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills, with a solid understanding of program procedures and the child protection system.
- Professional Certifications: A current open driver's licence and valid Working with Children Blue Card and Disability Services Yellow Card.
