About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team at Serco's Australian Defence Force Health Services. As a Medical Officer, you will play a critical role in delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
- Form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
- Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that will support the health and wellbeing of members pre and post deployments.
- Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and Commanders of units.
- Work as part of a team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
- May be required to provide services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.

What We Offer
- Current unconditional and unrestricted General registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
- Minimum of 2 years' full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent), GPT Registrar rotations are counted.
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
