About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced physician to take on a leadership role in our medical department. As the Director of Medicine, you will have overall responsibility for the management and operation of the medical department, leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with clinical expertise, academic abilities, and professional qualities that facilitate excellent communication and collaborative relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee medical service delivery, including the Medical Ward, General Medicine specialist outpatient clinics, and specialist outreach patient services.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service integration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Medical Services and other directors to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
  • Hold current general and specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
  • A dual Fellowship in a relevant specialty will be highly regarded.
What We Offer
  • Competitive pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value.
  • Up to $70,000 in incentive payments may be available under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 35-50% base annual salary.
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary.
  • Motor vehicle allowance.
  • Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
  • Inaccessibility allowance.
