Role Overview

Lycopodium is seeking an experienced Rail Engineer to join our growing team in Melbourne. As a key member of our design group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions for rail projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain the quality of output produced by the engineering and drafting team.
  • Ensure technical solutions are compliant with design review processes and quality requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and provide input and feedback to the design team.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and draftspersons to develop their skills.
  • Provide technical support for proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
  • Prepare design scope, budget, and schedule for written proposals.

Requirements

  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering or a design delivery role.
  • Proven experience in rail and civil projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering.
  • Member of Engineers Australia with Chartered Status (CPEng) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing client interactions on design and drafting issues.
  • High attention to detail and knowledge of engineering designs and calculations.
  • Experience in design and project management.
