At BDO Australia, our team is looking for a Bids Manager to support our firm in the management and development of competitive tenders.

This role can be based in any major Australian city, with a hybrid working arrangement. You'll be a key business partner within the local office and work as part of an integrated national Bids team.

As a Bids Manager, you will provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on bid strategy and management. You'll be hands-on — coordinating kick-off meetings, writing, editing, designing/formatting, coordinating input from subject matter experts, and supporting bids teams through competitive presentations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to a strong, collaborative, national Bids team culture
  • Producing and managing high-quality engagement-specific and panel bids following the firm's bid framework
  • Coaching Partners and supporting pitch teams to achieve the best outcome for the firm
  • Guiding and influencing opportunity qualification (bid/no bid) in line with firm criteria
  • Working with Partners and subject matter experts to define compelling value propositions, in concert with BD, Communications, and other Clients & Markets specialists on priority opportunities
  • Writing/reworking content and proofreading/editing to BDO's tone of voice guidelines
  • Applying Corporate Visual Identity guidelines for brand-compliant design and formatting of documents
  • Supporting ongoing panel arrangements and onboarding of new team members
  • Contributing to the firm's bid framework (processes, templates, tools, training) and supporting bid capability initiatives
  • Collaborating with the Bids Enablement team on identifying opportunities

You will have approximately 7 years of experience in a similar role within a professional services environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Initiative, curiosity, commercial acumen
  • Self-awareness and willingness to receive feedback
  • Strong project management skills with flexibility for evolving priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Experience producing bids in response to detailed procurement requests, ideally in a professional services firm or for government/public sector or large corporate targets
  • Excellent business writing, proofreading, and editing skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork across all levels
  • Confidence coordinating content from subject matter experts, including senior leaders
  • Visual storytelling skills to create clear, compelling bid visuals
  • Experience complying with brand guidelines (visual and tone of voice)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (document design, layout, formatting)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (marketing, communications, PR, or journalism preferred)
  • Ability to quickly learn new software, systems, and processes
  • Respect for complementary skillsets within Clients & Markets and Shared Services to support revenue growth
