Pavement Management Leader

Job Description:

This is a senior leadership role within the Department of Transport and Planning's Maintenance Operations team. The position is responsible for leading a team of experts who plan, develop, deliver, and maintain pavement and road assets across Victoria.

The role manages all DTP's road assets including freeways, arterial roads, shoulders, drainage, and kerb and channel. Reporting to the Associate Director Routine Maintenance, this position operates in a cross-functional leadership team across all Maintenance Operations teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for pavement and road asset management
  • Manage engineering management systems, standards, processes, procedures, and information
  • Provide high-quality technical advice and support to stakeholders
  • Ensure high levels of engagement from staff and foster a collaborative work environment

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline such as civil engineering, transportation planning, or urban development
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in pavement and road asset management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
