About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dementia Consultant to lead our team in delivering exceptional care and support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support families, caregivers, and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.
  • Equip carers and clinicians with expertise to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through coaching, development of resources, and modelling.
  • Develop reports that are contextualised to individual situations and people, promoting positive change and improving quality of life for those living with dementia.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the holistic experience of individuals and their care networks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build capability across the home and aged care sectors.
  • Contribute to research projects and programs, driving innovation to meet evolving sector needs.

Requirements

  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and community aged care
  • Able to share knowledge to facilitate change at all levels
  • High-level negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective stakeholder management
  • A current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel
  • Empathy and patience
  • A relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health is essential
