We are an activity of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, established to provide care and lifestyle options to ageing Australians. Our locations include Sydney and Canberra, with a community care program across the Sydney metropolitan suburbs and Canberra ACT.
We foster a culture of inclusion and respect, delivering person-centred care through lifestyle quality and choice, accommodation, and clinical and nursing services. Our services include Residential Aged Care, Home and Community Services, and Retirement Villages.
We are seeking a WHS Business Partner to lead our safety management system, ensuring the safety, health, and wellbeing of our workforce. The successful candidate will drive positive change and education in safety performance, leadership, and culture.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing specialist expertise and advice on WHS matters, including risk management and policy development.
- Developing our new WHS management framework.
- Supporting our WHS Committees to ensure our processes and practices align with WHS legislation and the organisational WHS management framework.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of WHS risk management and risk assessment activities.
- Developing strong partnerships across the business and implementing a range of WHS initiatives aligned with the WHS management system.
- Developing, delivering, coordinating, planning, and assessing WHS training programs.
- Identifying and implementing WHS improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Ability to proactively educate, guide, and provide supportive advice that drives quality WHS initiatives and programs.
- Skills to negotiate, influence, and drive change, whilst being collaborative, to achieve strategic WHS goals.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS legislation, guidelines, and WHS management practices.
- Demonstrated experience in WHS risk management, policy development, and implementation.
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) with demonstrated diverse and experience in safety.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships, engage, motivate, and influence others to achieve positive safety outcomes.
- Ability to develop and deliver WHS programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the development of preventative strategies to minimise WHS risks in the workplace.
