Senior Policy Officer

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to join our team in Parramatta. As a key member of our Early Childhood Education Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services (QARS) directorate, you will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory requirements are embedded into early childhood education sector policy and practice.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement improvement strategies to enhance regulatory requirements and policy development.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on regulatory issues to support best practice regulation of NSW early childhood education and care services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
- Experience in state or federal government policy development.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Early Childhood Teaching, and/or Communications.
This role is suited to candidates with relevant qualifications and previous experience in a human service delivery agency, where they were responsible for managing projects that contributed to uplifting standards, quality or safety across the client or service provider population. Candidates with prior experience in a regulatory agency environment or operational service delivery environment are encouraged to apply.
