Clinical Endoscopy Specialist

This role presents a unique opportunity to refine your endoscopic skills, participate in research trials, and contribute to the care of gastroenterology patients.
Key Responsibilities- Service commitment to 3-4 lists per week with flexible working arrangements to cover consultant leave
- Perform mixed gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures
- Negotiate available sessions to enhance individual experience in endoscopy
- Be at or near the end of specialist training
- Be independent in colonoscopy procedures with an audited caecal intubation rate of greater than 90%
- Have previous endoscopic fellowship or higher degree (desirable but not essential)
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in numerous trials, including novel device trials, randomised trials with endoscopic intervention, and genetic studies. They will also be involved in endoscopic research, audit, and governance.
A key requirement for academic success is a logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of endoscopic procedures confirming ability for independent diagnostic endoscopy.
