**Applications are invited for Senior Clinical Fellow posts in the department of Gastroenterology**
- The duties of these posts include a service commitment to 3-4 lists per week with flexible working to cover consultant leave. These lists include mixed gastroscopy, and colonoscopy. Applicants should be at or near the end of their specialist training and independent in these activities - fully competent in colonoscopy with an audited caecal intubation rate of greater than 90%.
- The successful applicant will have the opportunity to negotiate the remainder of available sessions to enhance their own individual experience in endoscopy - with associated research opportunities, advanced endoscopy training and attendance at multi-disciplinary meetings
- Fellowship program's educational goals:
- Care of gastroenterology patients, with a focus on endoscopic management.
- Enhanced diagnostic, interventional and endoscopy procedural skills; including Endoscopic Ultrasound, ERCP, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection, Luminal Stenting, Management of Barrett's Oesophagus - including RFA, Dilatation, Chromoendoscopy.
- Acute interventional management of gastroenterology emergencies.
- Involvement in hepato-pancreatico-biliary and colorectal multi-disciplinary meetings, presentation of cases and understanding complex patient management.
- Attending radiology and pathology meetings to discuss endoscopy outcomes.
- Enhance knowledge on general gastroenterology disorders, their investigations, management and long term follow up.
- Involvement in endoscopic research is expected and participation in numerous trials. These include:
- novel device trials
- randomised trials with endoscopic intervention
- genetic studies in combination with the Family Cancer Clinic and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre
- Participation in endoscopic audit and governance.
- Academic requirements and/or selection criteria for applicants to the Fellowship program?
- Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of endoscopic procedures confirming ability for independent diagnostic endoscopy
- Previous endoscopic fellowship or higher degree desirable but not essential
Academic, research and/or clinical components of the program- Involvement in endoscopic research is expected and participation in numerous trials. These include:

- genetic studies in combination with the Family Cancer Clinic and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre

- Submission of abstracts and presentation at national/international meetings, with the goal of achieving publication in peer reviewed journals
