Event Support Specialist Role

We are seeking an Event Support Specialist to provide technical expertise in live event settings. The role involves working with various technologies and managing IT infrastructure.

  • Technical Operations:
    • Developing custom IT solutions for events, collaborating with clients to understand their requirements
    • Providing on-site technical support during events, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees and staff
    • Managing Windows-based systems, including Windows 10/11, Windows IOT, and Windows Server 2019/2022
    • Installing point-of-sale systems and EFTPOS terminals at venues and client sites
    • Maintaining ticketing IT infrastructure and access control systems
    • Coordinating maintenance schedules and responding to urgent technical issues
    • Utilizing project management tools like JIRA to track and document technical issues
    • Ensuring the installation, support, and maintenance of I.T. equipment such as servers, switches, and WAPs
    • Configuring VPN connections for temporary event deployments
  • Client & Venue Management:
    • Collaborating effectively with clients and venue managers to meet their technical needs
    • Providing expert technical guidance during high-pressure event situations
    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of system configurations and user access
    • Responding promptly to service requests with comprehensive fault resolution tracking
    About You

Applicants should have at least one year of hands-on experience in IT support, preferably in L1/L2 environments or field service roles. Your background includes working across multiple locations, providing technical support directly to end users, and managing dynamic IT environments.

  • Essential Experience: At least one year of hands-on experience in IT support, ideally in L1/L2 environments or field service roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows 10/11 administration, point-of-sale system management, and VPN technologies.
  • Professional Attributes: Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Practical Requirements: A valid full NSW driver's license and comfort with regular travel across the state.

This role requires being physically capable of handling equipment and working extended periods at event venues.

Requirements
  • Minimum one year of hands-on experience in IT support
  • Field service or traveling IT support specialist background
  • Familiarity with NSW's entertainment and sporting venue landscape
  • Experience with temporary network deployments and mobile IT solutions
  • Cisco certification (CCNA or equivalent) or similar networking qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases
  • Background with patron access control systems or large-scale event technology

This role involves working outside regular business hours and on weekends.
