Job Overview

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a key role in coordinating and providing operational third-tier IT infrastructure maintenance and support. This involves collaborating with a team to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Management: Provide feedback to clients and management regarding problem status and service requests to ensure agreed service levels are achieved.
  • Infrastructure Provisioning: Undertake change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning.
  • Technical Analysis: Analyze, advise, recommend, and plan maintenance upgrades or enhancements for the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting: Research problems and resolve issues to ensure reliable and available services.
  • Support: Provide third-level support and maintenance of the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Business Acumen: Understand client business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in performance analysis and recommending improvements.
  • Procedure Development: Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement of ITS operations.
  • Initiative Development: Participate in the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of whole-of-Government IT-related initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentoring and support to junior engineers and support technicians in the use and support of technologies.
