Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Signalling Construction Manager to join our team in Sydney or Perth. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the conversion and design elements of rail projects to ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager/Project Leader in managing client expectations and ensuring project scope is delivered within time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Manage interactions with authorities and utilities across project phases.
  • Develop a design procurement strategy with the Project Leader and Project Engineer to ensure consultants understand project drivers and respond accordingly.
  • Work with cost planners to develop an overall cost plan and design in accordance with project budget.
  • Support the Project Manager/Project Leader in developing an overall conversion program, including project issues related to revenue, client, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery.
  • Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimize Laing O'Rourke's position.
  • Prepare project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.
About You
  • Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Management) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the Rail Signalling sector.
  • Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of modern signalling technology and signalling principles.
  • Experience in managing teams for delivery phase of construction.
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
