Process Development Associate Scientist

The Gene Therapy Program is on the cusp of a groundbreaking era, poised to revolutionize the face of medicine with unprecedented potential for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process development projects for upstream and/or downstream manufacturing for viral vectors, driving innovation and efficiency in gene therapy production.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes for vector production, ensuring high-quality yields and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process development challenges, fostering a culture of open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Design and execute experiments to optimize vector production yields and quality, leveraging expertise in mammalian cell culture, tangential flow filtration, and column chromatography.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biochemical/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or related disciplines + 5 to 7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, tangential flow filtration, and/or column chromatography essential.
  • Background in biologics manufacturing advantageous.
  • Knowledge of process development concepts for biological manufacturing; basic principles of various engineering disciplines required.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
