Special Care Nursery Role

This is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to develop their career and make a positive impact on the lives of premature neonates and their families.

The Special Care Nursery delivers high-quality patient care with a focus on family-centered care. As a Level 4 service, we provide care for neonates from 32 weeks gestation, deliver respiratory support (CPAP), and accept emergency admissions from labour ward/theatre.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Special Care Nursery to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting comprehensive nursing care within the Special Care Nursery in accordance with best practice and Peninsula Health values.

  • Ensure the safety of the public, patients, and staff in relation to the provision of a safe environment from both OH&S and Infection Control Perspectives.
  • Complete all mandatory training as per hospital policy and participate in organised training and development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting comprehensive nursing care.
  • Ensuring the safety of the public, patients, and staff.
  • Completing mandatory training and participating in training and development activities.

The ideal candidate will have recent Special Care Nursery experience, a current AHPRA registration, and be working towards or having completed a postgraduate qualification in Neonatal/Health Management or NICU/Level 2 Course.

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Recent Special Care Nursery experience.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Neonatal/Health Management or NICU/Level 2 Course.
