Senior Cost Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our cost estimating team. As a Principal Adviser, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and reliable cost estimates for large and complex projects.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a service-provider culture within Estimating, with a strong focus on integrity and issue escalation. You will also be responsible for preparing thorough cost estimates with high accuracy for each stage of the project life cycle, ensuring that all cost estimates produced are consistent with standard procedures.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you will also assist other groups with the preparation of cost estimates for project development, develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, recognize their importance, enhance knowledge sharing and utilization, and participate in Technical Estimate Group (TEG) reviews as necessary.
To succeed in this role, you will require a minimum of 10 years' experience in major project estimating, specializing in process plants. You must have a technical understanding, possibly from an engineering degree, construction trade qualification, quantity surveying, or equivalent industry experience. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of the mining and construction industries, familiarity with estimating software systems and advanced Excel skills, ownership responsibility for delivering accurate information and data, in-depth knowledge of estimating principles and industry best practices, analytical data skills, self-motivation, reliability, and ability to work within a team.
Desirable qualifications include estimating experience from resource mining and infrastructure construction backgrounds, well-versed in bulk earthworks first principles estimating, advanced working knowledge of project management processes (cost management, risk management, contracts management, planning, and scheduling) and related tools, understanding of benchmarking in a mining environment, benchmarking of people management best practices, and a strong understanding of economic principles and how they affect costs.
