Job Opportunity: Human Resources Coordinator

CareFlight is a leading aeromedical organisation dedicated to saving lives and serving the community. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in the Northern Territory.

  • This role will involve providing generalist human resources support to our business units, as well as administrative assistance to HR processes and procedures.
About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing full administrative support pertaining to employee records, on-boarding/off-boarding processes, reporting, ASIC, and WWC applications;
  • Coordinating individual and bulk package/employment terms changes, including updating spreadsheets, preparing instructions for Payroll, and drafting letters;
  • Championing on-boarding, cross-boarding, and off-boarding workflows, recruitment and selection workflows, talent pool management, and reporting;
  • Assisting with IT and account creation, access, and troubleshooting, as well as reviewing and improving HR policies and procedures;
  • Developing contracts and other employment-related documentation using templates and assisting with the review and improvement of HR policies and procedures;
  • Assisting managers and staff with queries relating to terms and conditions of their employment, including Award, contract, and Enterprise Agreement interpretation;
  • Working with the Recruitment Business Partner to assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, drafting contracts, pre-employment checks, and onboarding;
  • Working as the DAMP Supervisor, undertaking all associated training, booking pre-employment drug and alcohol tests for new employees and contractors, and existing employees;
  • Assisting the Senior Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Business Partner with workers' Compensation claims and respective third-party providers;
  • Taking an active role in achieving identified projects, including HR/payroll systems implementation and development, contract start-ups, and annual HR calendar events;
  • Assisting with other duties as directed by the Senior Human Resources Manager or General Manager - Northern Territory.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or a related field (or currently studying);
  • Around three years' generalist Human Resources experience;
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel and Word;
  • A good understanding of the National Employment Standards (NES) and Fair Work Modern Awards;
  • A solid knowledge of Human Resources systems, processes, and procedures;
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work well with people at all levels, maintain confidentiality, and develop effective working relationships;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail;
  • An awareness and working knowledge of employment-related legislation;
  • The willingness and ability to handle a busy workload to deadlines and work reasonable additional hours to get the job done;
  • Flexibility to also work from other CareFlight bases as required;
  • Minimum three years' experience in an administrative role providing clerical support.
