Product Specialist Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our joint replacement team as a product specialist for robotic-assisted surgeries.

About the Role
  • As a product specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting orthopaedic surgeons in planning and executing robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements using advanced robotic systems.
  • You will be the primary clinical expert for the Mako system, providing real-time support during procedures and working closely with surgical teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Serving as an in-theatre expert for Mako-assisted procedures requires a high level of clinical knowledge, technical acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and clinical guidance to surgeons and theatre staff during Mako-assisted procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal use of the Mako robotic platform during joint replacement surgeries.
  • Conduct pre-operative CT-based planning and segmentation to assist in surgical case preparation.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in orthopaedic surgical techniques, anatomy, and robotic technology.
  • Provide ongoing training and clinical support to hospital staff and surgical teams.
  • Travel across Melbourne's South/South East suburbs to support multiple hospital sites.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong clinical background and a passion for surgical innovation. You may come from fields such as Orthopaedic clinical support, Biomedical science/engineering, Medical device experience, Operating theatre nursing/registered nursing experience, Physiotherapy or allied health with surgical exposure, Human movement or anatomy specialists with clinical experience.
