About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join our team at Northrop Consulting Engineers. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining our Information and Technology infrastructure to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain technology hardware and software to ensure our staff have the necessary tools to achieve their goals.
  • Seek innovative and technological efficiencies that align with our business strategies.
  • Maintain organization relevance and compliance with a deep understanding of software requirements and license availability.
  • Ensure hardware and systems are up-to-date to maintain a current and secure environment.
  • Uphold staff satisfaction and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure a reliable and fast networking infrastructure suitable for high-performance engineering software.
  • Work closely with the IT Teams and support other offices in delivering a standardized operating setup.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT.
  • Experience in a support desk IT role.
  • Security management including managing remote access from multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize requests, taking responsibility for tasks and delivering appropriate solutions.
  • System documentation, including production of user manuals, procedures, and guides.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High work standards and attention to detail, ensuring quality and accuracy for all tasks.
  • Reliability, capable of working well with people at all levels.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive and helpful approach.
  • Experience preferred in the use and management of the following software platforms:
    • Office365/Exchange Online
    • Active Directory
    • Windows Server 2008/2012
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • VoIP technologies and advanced IP telephone switching and routing technologies
    • Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
