Corporate Governance Specialist

The role of Corporate Governance Specialist is a high-level position within the organization, responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the board and its committees.

This involves actively managing a busy and complex schedule of meetings, preparing and reviewing board and committee documentation, including papers, minutes, and matters arising from this, as well as associated corporate secretarial reporting obligations.

The specialist will work closely with directors and executive group members to provide support and guidance on governance matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing board and committee meeting matters
  • Overseeing new initiatives and transactions as required
  • Undertaking policy and charter writing and reviews
  • Leading process and system development, enhancement, and training

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Laws or related Bachelor qualifications in a legal/business discipline
  • Member of the Governance Institute of Australia, and designation as a Chartered Secretary
  • Minimum five years' recent experience in a senior governance role and/or a company secretary in a financial services firm, preferably in investments
