About the Role

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Station Officer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of firefighters, responding to emergency situations, and ensuring the safety of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of firefighters, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve departmental goals.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, including fires, road crashes, and hazardous material incidents, and provide leadership and direction to team members.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, ensuring they are equipped to respond to a wide range of emergency situations.
  • Community Safety: Work with the community to promote fire safety and prevention, and develop and implement programs to reduce the risk of fires and other emergencies.
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial resources of the station, including budgeting and financial reporting.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A current valid Blue Card, manual Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence, and relevant firefighting experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a firefighting role, with a strong understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
