We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter - Community Safety Officer. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our community through proactive fire prevention, emergency response, and disaster management activities.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency incidents and provide fire and rescue services to the community.
- Participate in community education and outreach activities to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness.
- Develop and maintain competencies through regular training and drills to ensure safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
- Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities and ensure the maintenance and repair of operational equipment.
- Participate in incident reporting and general station administration as required.
- Australian Permanent Resident Status.
- Manual C Class driver's licence.
- Ability to commit to attending 50% of emergency calls as a day worker or 30% as a shift worker.
- Ability to attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
- Ability to obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
