Lab Operations Manager Job Summary

Our laboratory seeks a results-driven Lab Operations Manager to lead daily lab operations and drive meaningful outcomes.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of laboratory services, working closely with senior leaders to identify inefficiencies and implement plans that align with the organization's vision and goals.

  • Ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality laboratory processes.
  • Manage laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets, to optimize performance.
  • Establish metrics to track operational outcomes and present data-driven reports on departmental efficiency.
  • Take decisive action when standards are not met, coaching team members through corrective steps as needed.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, succession, and development to build a resilient team.
  • Serve as a strategic link between clinical and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record in driving operational improvements and leading strategic growth initiatives.
  • Experience working in a medical laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
  • Skilled at conveying complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • High commercial acumen and effective change management skills.
  • Strong interest in automation and process improvement to drive increased quality and efficiency.
