The Fire Sprinkler Installation Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Foreman and Superintendent in the assembly and refurbishment of water-based fire suppression systems. This position entails various responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, including the necessity to work alternative shifts or weekends to fulfill client and project demands. All tasks must be executed in a safe and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Fire Sprinkler Installation Assistant is a trainee who is acquiring knowledge about the installation mechanics of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Responsibilities may include site maintenance, unloading materials, organizing, and distributing supplies to team members at the worksite.
  • The role involves cutting, grooving, and threading pipes as part of the installation process.
  • Under the close supervision of a Fire Sprinkler Fitter, the assistant may also participate in the installation and testing of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Daily tasks are guided by a Fire Sprinkler Fitter or Foreman.
  • Experience in construction trades, mechanical skills, or relevant training is advantageous.
  • The assistant must demonstrate reliability, the ability to follow verbal instructions, and the initiative to learn trade skills.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read labels, signage, and directions are essential.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required for potential company vehicle operation.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards 13, 14, 20, and 24 is expected.
  • Participation in training sessions is encouraged to enhance professional growth and industry knowledge.
  • Learn to safely operate construction equipment, including ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Understand and embody DynaFire's mission statement and core values.
  • Adhere to DynaFire's safety protocols as well as the client's safety guidelines.
  • Follow all DynaFire policies and procedures diligently.
  • Effective time management skills are necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs overhead and stand for extended periods.
  • Adaptability to work in various environments, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Compliance with safety equipment requirements, including appropriate footwear and headgear.
  • Availability to work alternate shifts or weekends as needed.
  • Timely submission of required documentation is mandatory.
  • Capability to learn and interpret blueprints is beneficial.

Training and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • No prior experience is necessary; however, specific certifications must be obtained within 36 months of employment.
  • Basic understanding of fire pumps, wet systems, pre-action systems, and dry systems is preferred.
