Meat Department Supervisor Job Description

The Meat Department Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation of our meat department. This position demands high levels of leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and direct the Meat Department team to optimize performance and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including timecards and sanitation logs, to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency.
  • Participate in employee evaluations, hiring, promotion, and termination decisions to foster a positive work environment.
  • Address employee concerns with tact and discretion, promoting open communication and conflict resolution.
  • Implement and enforce strict adherence to Meat Department procedures and safety standards to minimize risks and hazards.
Requirements:
  • High School Certificate or Trade Qualification (Butcher) is mandatory for this role.
  • Strong supervisory or leadership experience, butchery, meat cutting, or comparable experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are necessary to address complex issues and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), AS400, and basic math skills is required for effective job execution.
Working Conditions:

This role requires a full-time commitment, minimum 38 hours per week, with rotating roster including weekend work, early starts, and late finishes.
