About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer with an interest in structural engineering to join our team. This opportunity involves working on both the mechanical systems and the structural integrity of plant equipment, infrastructure, and shutdown projects in the mining and resources sector.

  • Analyzing and assessing plant equipment and structural components will be a key aspect of the job.
  • Designing modifications to optimize existing mechanical and structural systems is also a critical responsibility.
  • Assisting in the design and coordination of new equipment installations, including load-bearing supports, platforms, and foundations.
  • Supporting shutdown planning, including developing detailed work packs, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Preparing technical specifications for tendering, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting contract awards.
  • Collaborating with experienced engineers on troubleshooting and problem-solving for mechanical and structural challenges.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferably with an interest in or exposure to structural engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with project planning tools, such as Microsoft Project, are highly valued.
  • Some exposure to CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, is desirable.
  • Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a willingness to work in a dynamic industrial environment are crucial qualities for this position.
