Fire Capability Leader

Job Summary:

Oversight of operational preparedness is required to ensure immediate response and successful management of contracted emergency scenarios. Leadership is essential in ensuring Defence capability through effective planning and stakeholder engagement.

  • Accountable for resource allocation, including personnel, fleet, equipment, and training, to meet contract objectives.
  • Leadership skills are required to foster an inclusive working environment by driving employee engagement and service excellence.
  • Key relationships must be built with Defence Service Personnel, SEG Leadership, Base Community, and Industry partners to raise the profile of Fire and Rescue.
  • Driving safety, environment & health outcomes is crucial by role modelling behaviours and leading a culture of compliance.

About You:

A diverse background is required for this high-performing contract. Experience in emergency management in dynamic environments, Graduate or Post Graduate qualification in Business Management, and experience in complex service delivery across geographically dispersed operations are desirable.

Additional qualifications include excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, demonstrated experience with leading people programs, workforce planning, mentoring and change management, competency-based training, application of Enterprise Agreements and partnering with unions, customer-centricity, commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
