This role presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead and promote pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates into research degrees. As the Indigenous Research Initiatives Coordinator, you will be instrumental in creating a culturally responsive support system for prospective Indigenous graduate researchers.
The successful candidate will develop and implement a multidisciplinary PhD familiarisation program, ensuring seamless navigation of university processes and pathways for Indigenous students. This position offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on building Indigenous academic leadership and advancing research excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and pilot a culturally safe and supportive PhD familiarisation program across STEM and HASS disciplines.
- Provide tailored support to prospective Indigenous candidates, offering guidance and warm engagement to navigate university processes.
- Collaborate with various University departments to align program delivery with institutional goals and growing research expertise.
This is a part-time position that requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of Indigenous student experiences, and the ability to develop and implement initiatives that increase opportunities for prospective Indigenous graduate researchers.
