Rio Tinto, a global leader in mining and materials production, is seeking a Senior Advisor Business Improvement to join our Operational Excellence – Business Improvement team.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a high-performing individual to drive business improvement initiatives and contribute to the company's journey towards becoming the best operator.

Job Description

The Senior Advisor Business Improvement will play a key role in enabling and driving site initiatives that deliver significant value across all of Rio Tinto's mine, port, and rail sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading the deployment of the Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS) to identify best practices and drive cultural change.
  • Conducting rapid productivity assessments to identify value and business improvement pathways.
  • Facilitating the execution of transformation programmes focused on safety, cost, and productivity through the use of LEAN tools.
  • Providing trusted advisory services to influence and coach project teams to deliver sustainable results quickly.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience leading business improvement projects, and knowledge of change management methodologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification; LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification desirable.
  • Experience leading and facilitating business improvement projects in the mining industry.
  • Strong analytical skillset – Excel, Power BI, MiniTab etc.
  • Proven ability to communicate new ideas, influence stakeholders, and manage conflict.

Rio Tinto offers a competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience, with an estimated annual salary of $120,000-$150,000. Additional benefits include:
