Senior Mental Health Nurse Specialist

The After-hours Nurse Manager will lead and oversee operational management after hours, providing professional guidance, clinical leadership, and ensuring smooth patient flow, effective clinical escalation, and coordinated incident response.
- Effective and efficient leadership and management of the relevant inpatient services
- Guiding the delivery of optimal patient care through collaborative partnerships with other teams, services and organisations
- Supporting the day-to-day operational activities for the Units
- Involvement in strategic planning, project development and continuous improvement of practice standards and services Participating in executive on-call duties for after-hours and weekends
Our ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Board
- Demonstrated extensive post-registration experience in mental health nursing with management experience and experience in acute mental health care
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to undertake clinical service planning, change management and financial management
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Injury Management, security, risk, and safety management associated with acute mental health service
- Understanding of and commitment to consumer and carer consultation and participation in service planning and delivery
- Sound knowledge of Performance Management and Industrial Relations Processes
- Computer literacy and current NSW unrestricted drivers license
