Recreational Activities Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at a medium-sized, fully accredited residential aged care home.

In this role, you will work closely with a small team of RAOs to create an enhanced sense of community within the home. Your primary responsibility will be to assess individual residents' needs and design programs to meet those needs, ensuring they continue to enjoy life and engage with the community.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, and requires a qualified and experienced individual with a Certificate IV in Leisure & Health. You will be responsible for ensuring residents receive appropriate assessments, developing programs to enrich their lives, and coordinating excursions to maintain meaningful relationships within their community.

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with the elderly and creating a vibrant community. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a creative approach to recreational activities, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to understand residents' needs and preferences.
  • Design and deliver recreational programs to meet individual needs.
  • Coordinate excursions and activities to maintain community connections.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure integrated care plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and community groups.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Certificate IV in Leisure & Health.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a similar role within residential aged care.
  • Passion: A genuine love for working with the elderly and creating a vibrant community.
