Intensive Care Registrar Opportunity in Tropical Australia

We are seeking a highly skilled Intensive Care Registrar to join our team at JPS Medical Recruitment. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a critical care department in a remote location.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care and advice for the management of ICU patients, including admitting, managing, and discharging patients under the supervision of the ICU consultant.
- Conduct regular inpatient ward rounds, incorporating teaching to a multi-disciplinary team, and provide opinions and advice to referring medical practitioners as needed.
Our facility is located in the tropical north of Australia, offering a unique blend of cultures and breathtaking natural beauty. The city boasts a thriving arts and culinary scene, making it an attractive location for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a relaxed atmosphere.
Facility Overview- We have an annual admission rate of 1250 patients (adult and pediatric) and are accredited for 12 months of CICM training, with accreditation towards rural, pediatric, trauma, and neurosurgery requirements.
- Our ICU offers an established teaching program, including echocardiography, as well as support for both the CICM part 1 and part 2 examinations.
- AHPRA Registration
- Experience level: for registrar role: PGY 4 or above with experience in a critical care department
- For senior registrars, you must be a member of a critical care training pathway (CICM, ANZCA, ACEM) and expected to complete training within 2 years
- An interest in and a commitment to improving Indigenous health
