Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Registrar to join our team at a tertiary and level 3 teaching hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive inpatient care to patients in the general paediatric wards and neonatal intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Routine and Emergency Care: The Paediatric Registrar will be responsible for providing both routine and emergency after-hours care on a rotating roster.
  • Conduct Outpatient Clinics: The successful candidate will conduct general paediatric outpatient clinics, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in Outreach Services: The Paediatric Registrar will participate in specialist paediatric outreach services to regional hospitals and remote communities, promoting healthcare access and equity.
  • Supervise and Support Junior Staff: The successful candidate will supervise, support, and evaluate junior staff in their inpatient care duties, ensuring their professional development and growth.
  • Engage in Continuous Professional Development: The Paediatric Registrar will engage in continuous medical education, professional development, peer review, research, teaching, quality improvement activities, and clinical audits as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Eligibility: The successful candidate must be eligible for general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Paediatric Experience: A minimum of 3 years paediatric experience incorporating inpatient and outpatient care is required.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Experience: A minimum of 6 months experience in a neonatal intensive care unit is required.
