We are seeking an experienced Energy and Sustainability Strategist to support the delivery of our global energy and sustainability strategy in Asia-Pacific.
The successful candidate will be part of our team leading the Equinix Energy Procurement and Sustainability program and will work closely with other project teams and stakeholders to provide strategic support and leadership to deliver the program in APAC.
This role is global in nature, requiring heavy collaboration with teams and consultants across various countries and time zones. The expectation is that you will maintain a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.
Occasional travel (10-20% of the time) may be required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day program and project management of key energy and renewable energy workstreams across areas such as offsite PPAs, onsite PPAs, environmental commodities, and distributed energy technologies.
- Provide analytical support in assessing renewable energy PPA opportunities across the region, including performing market analysis of sustainability products to meet global goals.
- Negotiate complex and high-value renewable energy agreements (PPAs) with internal and external counsel support.
- Develop marketing materials and presentations for distribution to internal sales teams, executive leadership, and customers.
- Support the development and management of renewable energy procurement strategies to achieve overall long-term corporate sustainability objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
- 3+ years of experience in renewable energy procurement, origination, or project management.
- Knowledge of offsite and onsite PPAs, environmental commodities, carbon offsets, batteries, and fuel cells.
- Broad understanding of Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs) in APAC, including experience with financial modeling and analysis of PPAs.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with local and international teams within the company.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with guidance and direction from manager.
