Specialist Academic Mentor

We are seeking a part-time Learning Support Teacher to commence in April. This role is approx. 21 hours per week spread across 3 days.
This position could be combined with the Special Education Program Coordinator role for full-time work.
The Support Program of Applied Readiness for Community (SPARC) program sits within our Learning Enhancement and Program Support (LEAPS) department.
The SPARC program is an individualised program designed for students who have significant social and academic challenges within the mainstream classroom.
As a Learning Support Teacher, you will work closely with the Director of Learning Support and the LEAPS Coordinator to provide targeted, individualised educational support for students with diverse learning needs.
- Provide tailored support for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they are equipped for academic success, social development, and life in the wider community.
- Work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals to meet the individual needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- Have high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
