Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Waste Management Specialist to join our team at the Council's Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering essential waste services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy plant and equipment including loaders, water trucks, hooklift trucks, and landfill compactors with precision and efficiency.
  • Undertake waste management duties such as disposal of municipal, construction, commercial, and industrial waste, as well as contaminated waste in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Implement and monitor soil, leachate management, stormwater, sediment, and pollution control measures; site rehabilitation works; and site safety protocols.
  • Maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools, and PPE/C in line with Council standards ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to collaborative efforts towards achieving common goals.
  • Prepare and submit relevant documentation related to the role accurately and on time.
Essential Requirements
  • Possession of a current Class HR Driver's Licence is required.
  • Holding a valid General Construction Induction Training Card is mandatory.
  • Substantial experience relevant to the role aligning with the Position Description is preferred.
  • Able to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
