System Support Specialist

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a System Support Specialist. This role will involve providing technical support, ensuring that client interactions deliver a seamless user experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and specific requirements, monitoring, operating, and optimizing their GIS Solutions. You will identify, understand, and articulate solutions for issues using relevant technical expertise, including ArcGIS Enterprise and other related ArcGIS technologies.

About the Role
  • Perform incident management, problem management, and change management processes in line with ITIL best practice service delivery frameworks to resolve technical issues.
  • Understand client's business needs and specific requirements, monitor, operate, and optimize their GIS Solutions.
  • Help clients create value by identifying, understanding, and articulating solutions for issues using relevant technical expertise including ArcGIS Enterprise and other related ArcGIS technologies.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of the client environment, supported customisations, and common issues, ensuring documentation is accurate and high-quality.
  • Support post-incident review processes, identifying root causes and fixes/preventions for high-priority incidents.
  • Provide rostered on-call support as requested. Work outside normal office hours as needed to complete system maintenance.
About You
  • Strong Level 2 IT support background, including experience managing servers, troubleshooting issues, systems monitoring, and basic networking knowledge.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience using geospatial technologies, particularly ArcGIS for Enterprise and related ArcGIS technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience using AWS or Azure is desirable.
  • Knowledge and skills in geodatabases and RDS instances are desirable.
  • Must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Attitude and behavior align with Esri Australia's core values.
  • Please note you may need to obtain a satisfactory AFP National Police Check certificate pre-employment.
