Windows Server Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill this key position within our IT team.

About the Position

This role is critical to supporting our digital infrastructure and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our Windows Server environment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level support for Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, PKI, ADFS, DFS, File and Print services, and Group Policy with AGPM.
  • Manage and maintain systems monitoring and patching using Microsoft System Centre tools (SCOM, SCCM/MECM) and Intune.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, including escalation and major incident response.
  • Implement and support cyber security controls including application whitelisting, host-based firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and device control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver ICT projects and BAU operations.
  • Contribute to technical documentation including SOPs, design documents, and operational guides.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in Windows Server environments with a focus on system administration and integration with other Microsoft technologies. Experience with Azure IaaS, ADFS, Entra ID, and group policy would be highly regarded.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in Windows Server environments.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security tools and methodologies relevant to government environments.
  • Familiarity with Australian Government cyber security frameworks (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC).
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions such as CyberArk and enterprise identity management systems.
