Smoking Prevention Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Smoking Prevention Officer to join the public health team at Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing smoking prevention programs for Aboriginal communities in the Barkly region.
This is a full-time position based in Tennant Creek, and the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal health issues and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles.
The role will involve working closely with community members, health services, and other stakeholders to deliver culturally responsive programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement smoking prevention programs for Aboriginal communities
- Work with community members and health services to deliver culturally responsive programs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce smoking rates
- Conduct research and analysis to inform program development and evaluation
- Report on program progress and outcomes to stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant field such as health promotion, public health, or Aboriginal health
- Experience working in Aboriginal health or community development
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal health issues and cultural protocols
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build effective relationships with stakeholders
