Indigenous Health Outcomes Improvement Support Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated support officer to join our Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Team in Tennant Creek. As a key member of our team, you will assist in developing and promoting supportive resources and activities aimed at reducing tobacco smoking in Aboriginal communities. Our team works closely with local communities to enhance understanding of the effects of tobacco on overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver smoking prevention and cessation campaigns, information sessions, and community events in accordance with relevant guidelines and policies.
- Develop respectful relationships with Barkly Region communities.
- Uphold the vision, mission, and priorities of Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation.
- Ensure all program materials are up-to-date, relevant, and engaging for the target audience.
- Contribute to a culturally safe working environment and represent the TIS Program when collaborating with key stakeholders.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Essential skills and experience include willingness to undertake relevant training, experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services, and ability to support the delivery of culturally responsive programs and services.
