Patient Flow and Operations Manager
About the Role:This is an exciting new opportunity for a professional to lead patient flow and operations in a hospital setting.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital coordination, management, and patient flow.
As a Patient Flow and Operations Manager, you will provide leadership and operational management of admissions and staffing resources.
You will work collaboratively with clinical nurse unit managers and other hospital coordinators to ensure efficient patient flow.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and operational management of admissions and staffing resources
- Monitoring and reviewing existing patient placements
- Building and maintaining relationships with other facilities to ensure seamless transfer of care
- Liaising with case managers regarding transfer of patients from other organizations
- Ensuring optimal utilization of beds in each area for each hospital
- Actively collaborating with nurse unit managers, VMOs, and deputy director of clinical services to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness
- Managing the casual pool portfolio
- Assessing clinical, administrative, and financial risk of transfer requests from other facilities
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A level 4 registered nurse qualification
- AHPRA registration with a current practicing certificate
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated high-level communication and public relations skills
- High-level time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
- Ability to integrate and coordinate bed management
- Previous experience in a management or similar role
- Management qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of health funding arrangements (desirable)
