Technical Service Specialist

At Medtronic, you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Specialist to join our diverse and collaborative Service & Repair team based at our Huntingwood site on a 9-month contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to provide technical support in areas such as operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or post-market development with the use of service manuals, work instructions and defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing in-house servicing on a wide variety of medical devices, maintaining, testing and calibrating repaired medical devices, and performing loan return testing and assisting with service loan supply management.

A key part of this role will be diagnosing electrical, mechanical, software and systems failures using established procedures, preparing reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues, and communicating with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform in-house servicing on a wide variety of medical devices at the S&R Workshop as per AS/NZ 3551:2012
  2. Maintain, test and calibrate repaired medical devices
  3. Perform loan return testing and assist with service loan supply management
  4. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, software and systems failures using established procedures
  5. Prepare reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Requires high school diploma or equivalent vocational or technical education or certification. Demonstrated solid knowledge and understanding of AS/NZ 3551:2012 and ISO 13485:2016.
