Our Family Law Practice

We are a well-established and respected legal practice, exclusively focused on Family Law. Our workplace culture is down-to-earth, professional, sociable, and close-knit. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding support to our employees, as well as all the resources you would expect from a leading law firm.

We are now expanding and looking to appoint an experienced Family Lawyer (Senior Associate/Special Counsel level) with a minimum of 5 years post-admission experience, to join our busy Family Law team.

About the Role

This role requires proven expertise across all aspects of Family Law matters (ideally complex property disputes) and offers the opportunity to handle your own family law files and provide exceptional client service.

  • Complex parenting disputes;
  • Significant property settlements;
  • Financial agreements;
  • Children's matters;
  • Divorce & separation;
  • Appeals;
  • Maintenance applications;
  • IVF/surrogacy arrangements; international relocation.
Key Responsibilities

As an experienced Family Lawyer, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of complex Family Law matters, including:

  • Advocating for clients in court proceedings;
  • Managing client relationships and expectations;
  • Providing expert advice on Family Law matters;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to resolve Family Law disputes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-admission experience in Family Law;
  • Proven expertise in complex Family Law matters, including property disputes;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for growing a Family Law practice.

We genuinely support our staff, with only 5 billable hours per day, a 2:1 ratio of Lawyers to support staff, ability to work 2 days from home, excellent IT systems, wellness days off, and regular team catch ups.
