About the Position

The Product Development Engineer role requires a skilled professional to design and develop innovative food packaging and processing machinery and systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create high-performance machinery that meets operational and cost specifications.
  • Develop designs, assemble, commission, test, and refine processes to ensure optimal results.
  • Design and create drawings of the highest quality, considering upstream and downstream effects on the business and end users.
  • Identify and implement efficient processes and practices to maintain consistency with design philosophies.
  • Manage design projects to meet milestones and schedules.
  • Provide high-level support to customers and teams.
  • Collaborate with departments to successfully transition new designs through documentation, prototyping, production, and testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in special purpose machine design or manufacturing, with some autonomy.
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD and 3D modeling systems.
  • Experience in the food and packaging industry is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, structural design, and materials handling.
  • Ability to produce documentation suitable for manufacturing and installation personnel.
  • Logical, pragmatic thinking and excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
