Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Inclusive Education Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Curriculum Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in fostering an inclusive educational environment where every student has the potential to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement inclusive education practices and processes that promote access to all learning areas across Years 7 to 12 curriculum spaces.
- Manage a team of Classroom Support Assistants, guiding them in the prescribed practices of the College and providing direct instruction and feedback as required.
- Demonstrate curriculum leadership within the College by developing effective programs of study, interventions, and enrichments that are based on principles of inclusivity and equity.
- Utilize data to track student progress and development and assess the effectiveness of inclusive education strategies.
- Build and maintain a deep professional knowledge about the compliance aspects affecting inclusion within the College and the current priorities in research within this area.
- Effectively collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Coordinators, Padua Head of Campus, and St Peter's Head of Campus to support students with Personalised Learning Plans.
- Work with and support classroom teachers to enable them to respond appropriately to individual circumstances and situations.
- Work with relevant staff and other members of the community to manage departmental processes, such as staff and student allocations, excursions, and the purchase of resources.
- Ensure effective administrative processes in the department, including holding productive meetings and maintaining accurate records.
- Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations
- Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation
- A comprehensive understanding of Catalyst initiatives and High Impact Teaching Practices and the need to provide appropriate support and feedback to teaching staff.
- A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select, and design content for effective teaching and learning within the classroom and across the school.
- Demonstrated capability to coordinate a teaching team effectively, supervise staff across different subject areas, promote their own and the department's professional development, and work with staff to effect change.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills, including high-level mediation and conflict resolution skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build community.
- The ability to exercise sound judgment, including dealing with confidential matters.
