           St Mary MacKillop College is a leading Catholic secondary school in Canberra, operating across two campuses.            **About the Role**


           We are seeking a highly effective and passionate Inclusive Education teacher to join our team. The successful applicant will work closely with our Inclusive Education Coordinator and a team of Classroom Support Assistants to provide support to classroom teachers in meeting diverse student needs across the College.


           **Key Responsibilities**


           • Work collaboratively with the Coordinator, members of all faculty areas, and with whole staff to ensure that the College Vision for inclusive education is implemented and practised;


           • Involvement in the development of educational policies of the College, especially as they relate to teaching areas and inclusive education;


           • Provision of guidance and support for Classroom Support Assistants in consultation with the Coordinator;


           • Provision of direct assistance to individual students;


           • Working with individual teachers, teams of teachers and faculties to guide and support inclusive practices in all classrooms;


           • Communication with parents and carers regarding students with inclusive needs;


           • Accountability to the Curriculum Coordinator for all aspects relating to the teaching role;


           • Supporting the Coordinator in the promotion of inclusive education;


           • Contribution to whole staff meetings, campus staff meetings, and other school activities including faculty meetings as negotiated;


           • Participation in other activities relating to the teaching and learning processes of the school, e.g. Parent-Teacher Evenings, Information Nights;


           • A willingness to be involved in co-curricular activities: e.g camps, retreats, and sport where negotiated;


           • Responsibility for all aspects of administrative duties that relate to teaching and pastoral duties e.g. keeping class rolls, accurate records, student reports, correspondence etc;


           • Promote and implement shared practices around literacy and numeracy across the curriculum;


           • Engage with and contribute to continuous professional learning at faculty and whole school level.


           **Requirements**


           • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching;


           • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations;


           • Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.


           **Selection Criteria**


           • Be an outstanding teacher of experience and initiative who can work effectively with the curriculum team, colleagues, students and families;


           • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of contemporary issues and practices in teaching from Years 7-12;


           • Contribute to the development of pedagogy and assessment practices across the curriculum;


           • As a classroom leader work effectively with colleagues to develop a vision and profile for Inclusive Education;


           • Support the College to build community with staff, students and their families; and


           • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
