Support the delivery of high-quality care to older people in a dynamic residential aged care environment. As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling residents to stay active, independent and connected to their communities.

About the Role

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver reablement-focused programs that make a real difference in residents' lives. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • SUPPORTING MOBILITY AND FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMS: Assist residents to maintain or regain mobility and independence through exercises and activities tailored to their individual needs.
  • ASSISTING WITH RESTORATIVE THERAPY: Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to design and implement restorative therapy plans that promote functional recovery and improved quality of life.
  • FACILITATING FALLS PREVENTION AND ACTIVE AGEING GROUP SESSIONS: Lead group sessions focused on falls prevention, active ageing and healthy living, promoting a culture of wellness and prevention within the facility.
  • ASSISTING WITH PRESSURE CARE AND PAIN MANAGEMENT PLANS: Support the development and implementation of pressure care and pain management plans, working closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure resident-centered care.
  • COLLABORATING WITH CLINICIANS: Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and care staff to deliver seamless support to residents, addressing their physical, emotional and social needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A CURRENT QUALIFICATION IN ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANCE (CERTIFICATE III OR IV) OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE;
  • AUDITION COMMISSION LICENCE;
  • MANDATORY TRAINING IN FIRST AID;
  • ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND AS PART OF A TEAM;
  • EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS;
  • WILLINGNESS TO OBTAIN AN NDIS WORKER SCREENING AND NATIONAL POLICE CHECK.
